Martinique’s coast enjoys strong winds, making it possible to kiteboard and windsurf all year round.

Other activities you can try include jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and even flyboarding.

Martinique is a top, world-renowned diving destination.

In Martinique, you can enjoy the island’s incredible sea life with an afternoon of diving, a morning of snorkeling or a boat trip where you might spot dolphins if you are lucky.

You can take long treks on horseback or on foot – some stunning scenery await along the island’s trails – or opt for an adrenaline-filled afternoon of canyoning. Martinique has nine different ecosystems for you to discover, where plant and animal life live in incredible harmony.

Martinique rum is the only certified label of origin rum in the world and is emblematic of Martinique. Work your way along the rum trail and allow yourself time for a tasting to understand the deep history and culture of Martinique. 

Distilleries all over the island offer tours. There are currently a dozen distilleries still in operation and open to visitors – the ideal time to visit is from February to June during the harvesting period.

A few distilleries not to miss: Depaz, La Mauny, Neisson, Saint-James, JM, Clément and Habitation Saint-Etienne.
 

Martinique’s food scene is extremely rich. In every corner of the island, you can taste colorful and often spicy Creole specialties.

You will love trying our lobster, poulet boucané (smoked chicken), féroce d’avocat (spicy mashed avocado and cod combo) and our famous black sausage (boudin créole).

There are endless things to do in Martinique. From Basse Pointe to Le Diamant via Fort de France, Le Vauclin and Sainte Marie, one thing is sure in Martinique, you’ll have no time to get bored.
