On June 7, 2018 the CTO (Caribbean Tourism Organization) held its annual Media Awards Gala during their Caribbean week which took place in New York June 2 to 8, 2018.

Among the 10 awards is the coveted Golden Mic for Best Feature Broadcast, which was awarded to Darley Newman for "Travels with Darley in Martinique," which aired on PBS and is now available via Amazon Prime.

In her May 31 release to announce her nomination for the Best Feature Broadcast Golden Mic award, Darley Newman said: “We discovered Martinique through the eyes of local people and covered the diversity of experiences, history, cuisine and culture, including the top places to sun, sail, snorkel, eat, drink and take a deeper dive into eco-friendly nature and fascinating Creole culture.”

Darley Newman, PBS TV host and globetrotter discovered the many faces of Martinique during the shooting of the TV show “Travels with Darley” this past year. This Martinique dedicated episode will broadcast on PBS stations (200 million people) across the nation starting in March and April and Create TV in May.

This episode showcases Darley discovering the island of flowers, its natural beauty, historic sites, city tours and much more! Including a special tasting experience of the best agricole rhum in the world according to connoisseurs in distilleries from 18th Century, and an aquatic adventure with Guy Ferdinand aka Chef Hot Pants.
